Candidate should have Desktop/laptop at home (Share the system configuration details while sharing profile). Client will provide a system to the Data ops candidates.
Candidate should have a proper internet connection at home (WIFI connection / High-speed Data Cable) and 4G network connection as a backup. (Should share details of both the internet connection)
Candidate will be solely responsible for basic infrastructure requirements (Workstation and internet) and their productivity during WFH.
Shift timings of candidates can change based on BUSINESS requirements.

About Process

Data Analyst - Finance is responsible for reporting/data visualization for the Finance team
|

Will work with both Finance stakeholders as well as data analysts/scientists to meet reporting tasks and needs

Must have a deep understanding of Finance funnels/functions

Must have ability to synthesize business requirements into actionable reporting and insights

Primary responsibilities include working with other departments and BI resources to produce and design biz-ready data models/ KPIs/success metrics/dashboards

Must have a strong SQL background, data visualization and data modeling experience

Will work closely with the BI Engineering team to ensure that data is created in appropriate format

Build effective, reliable, and visually appealing dashboards using Looker/Tableau for the Finance team (80%)
|
|
○ Responsibility: Create visually appealing and insightful dashboards and reports that load in a timely fashion, provide consistent data, and help answer business questions.
|
|
○ Understand Newsela's business objectives and business model, and partner with Finance leaders to synthesize business requirements into actionable reporting and insights
|
|
○ Create centralized key reporting for overall Finance team and for individual teams with minimal duplication of reports or KPIs
|
|
○ Data Visualization: Ensure that the reports answer strategic questions for Finance while providing valuable insights to influence decision making
|
|
○ Support Finance Team with ad-hoc analysis
|
|
○ Code Reviews and team review, peer review to provide feedback
|
|
○ Within 30 days, able to create consolidated report on key Finance metrics from existing data in warehouse
|
|
○ Within 90 days, able to support on-going dashboarding needs and help UAT a prototype design of a Finance data model
|
|
Assist with Model "Biz-Ready" Finance data layer in Looker and Data Warehouse (10%)
|
|
○ Responsibility: Create a "biz-ready" data layer that will be used by Looker and other Analysts / Data Science teams.
This layer should be rid of redundant fields, have clear naming conventions, and fill in missing dimensions / measures.
|
|
Create technical changes that are approved by BI Engineering
|
|
○ Be aware of how to submit requests of tables to BI Engineering when new fields are required
|
|
○ Within 90 days of starting, able to partner with BI and to request add/change/update to data model in warehouse
|
|
Build / maintain documentation on data model, reporting, and data dictionary (10%)
|
|
○ Responsibility: Provide / maintain clear documentation on company data dictionary, new data model, and Finance reports
